Hello Miss <(for now) Anne, As far as a mike goes I will be bringing one, unless it's an easy (cheap grab) from the rental (or borrowing) place. I will need a mike stand, & can't easily fly with one. ~?~ Power needs are not that much but it's always better to have to much then not enough. That being said, a 20 amp circuit dedicated to the Band (me), should be OK. However you will likely need stage lighting as it goes into nightfall & that can draw more power. Requirements (in general) we can discuss by phone rather then having to spell it all out. A small stage/riser is always nice, & can be rented or (literally) built (cheap) for the occasion. In a perfect world some colored lights on it, but not required. It just adds a Pro Touch to it all. Lighting is such an inexpensive way to color the whole party & give it a very elegant touch? (We can talk ?) I left a message for Nate to call, so maybe a conference ll, (three way or you guys on speaker)?  ~  I do have a lot of planning & playing weddings experience & would be happy to chime in on some easy idea's. It's a very special (often) once in a lifetime event, so let's make it very much so. You do have the right MC & Live Music, to help make it all flow! You guys will always remain the focus, but let's whip those ready to ROCK into a frenzy, & make this a lasting memory...
Before I draft the Letter of Agreement, let's chat. Have a pen & paper for notes. If possible, call @ 9:45 your time tonight (415 233-0632). If that doesn't work out, we can plan a time for tomorrow.

Hey Tommy Rox!

I am very excited to finally get to meet you at our wedding.  My mom and my sister and I are doing some of the planning now, and we had a question for you... (Not sure if you had this conversation or not yet with Nate)

But as far as the logistics go, what exactly do you NEED to have as far as equipment, electrical needs, etc?  As you know we are kinda new to this and could use all of the help you can give us as far as this is concerned.  So, is there anything that we need to prepare or arrange to get for you?  Like is there a list of equipment that we have to have?

Also, we are going to have Taylor Short, Bo Short's daughter sing at our wedding ceremony.  obviously she will need a good mic, is it possible for us to borrow your mic for that part (if you are bringing one of course)

Thanks so much Tommy!  Hope is well.  Looking forward to hearing from you!

Anne

let me try to take some stress away – you don't need a minute by minute plan of the wedding ceremony – what you have listed below will last 30-35 minutes.  you need to nail down what Taylor is going to sing and who will be playing music in the processional and recessional.  Prelude music usually is played while guests are being seated so I would start 20-25 minutes before the service.  there are LOTS of wedding music Cd's out there - that will give you an idea of what to play.  I can't remember whether you were going to have live music or a dj – so you do need to figure that out if you haven't already decided.

a lot of people print their wedding bulletin the week of the wedding.  But I think we could finalize it at our next meeting.  Use the order of service I sent you previously, then list all of the participants (parents of bride, parents of groom, maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, etc) and some couples put a note to their guests (i.e. "thank you for sharing this special day.  You have honored us with your presence . . .")

I would like you to have a plan for where people will stand before we get to the rehearsal.  We can change the plan at the rehearsal but we need something to start with.  I would take a piece of paper and just mark out where people will stand.  If you start with you, Nathan and me – it will be pretty obvious from there.

again –we will work through this at our next meeting so don't feel stressed.

Dan

Subject: Ceremony Agenda

Hi Dan,

I hate to be annoying, I feel like I've been emailing you way too much lately!

Anyway, I need your advice.  My Mom and my Sister are really pushing me to have a 1st draft of the wedding minute by minute as well as the draft music that Nate and I would like to have played, passages we would like to have read, etc.  I understand their logic, and it's that anything that we can just "knock out" now and NOT leave lingering till the last minute, might as well do it now, I get it.  However, I am not very good at this type of thing, and obviously fairly new at all this stuff, I feel like I'm navigating unfamiliar territory.  I haven't been to very many weddings and never really paid much attention to the ceremony agenda.  So I could really use your advice...

*When do people usually have their ceremony agenda finalized?  When is it usually drafted?  How exact does it have to be? And are there things that we need to be thinking about / coordinating ahead of time?

*Can you help me (in terms of the timing and the run down), like would you mind giving me a sample or rough draft to work with based on your experience?  We have decided that we want the ceremony to last approx 30-35min.  Here are the things we know that we want:
-Unity candle
-Our friend Taylor Short to sing
-We want to exchange our OWN vows
-Nothing traditionally cultural to throw in, just simple and straight forward (the reception will have cultural stuff, we're just not looking to do anything strange during the ceremony)
-We will be getting married on the front steps of the kibler house, and I will be walking down the aisle TOWARDS the front steps
-We will have a ring bearer most likely
-we have 2 flower girls
-what type of music do people normally have during the prelude (the time when people are finding their seats) and how long does that typically last?
-we will have 6 bridesmaids/groomsman + 1 maid of honor/best man
-we want you to have time to do your thing (in terms of readings/speaking)
-as far as the wedding formations, we're up in the air, and open to anything... is that something we have to have planned out or something that we cover during the rehersal?

Thanks so much Dan, appreciate it.

Ceremony Decor DIY Ideas

The carnation centerpieces did double duty at the wedding: They lined the ceremony aisles and were later transported to the reception to serve as centerpieces.

Clear vases filled with river rocks and tall Manzanita branches lined the aisle at the ceremony. White pillar candles were placed at the end of each row of chairs, adding to the romantic ambience.

I like the idea of hurricane lamps with candles lining the aisles of the ceremony because we can REUSE these hurricane lamps for the RECEPTION area. Plus, also like the fact that they are non-electrical, portable, and sheltered from the wind.
And, like Gerbera daisies, you don't need much to make an impact

thanks

Dear Friend,
I am Mr.Greg Lee England Executive Director of the Hang Seng Bank Ltd,
Hong Kong.
An Iraqi named Haider Hanoon,a business man made a numbered fixed
deposit of (346,736,899.68 TWD) for 18 calendar months, this is valued
to Fourty Four million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars only
in my branch. Upon maturity several notice was sent to him, even during
the war, five years ago (2005). Again after the war another
notification was sent and still no response came from him. We later
found out that Haider Hanoon and his family had been killed during the
war in Gunfire that hit their home at Mukaradeeb where his personal oil
well was.
After further investigation it was also discovered that Haider Hanoon
did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the
paper work of his bank deposit. And he also confided in me the last
time he was at my office that no one except me knew of his deposit in
my bank. So, Fourty Four million Five Hundred Thousand United State
Dollars(44.5MUSD) is still lying in my bank and no one will ever come
forward to claim it. What bothers me is that according to the laws of
my country at the expiration five years six months the funds will revert to the
ownership of the Hong Kong Government if nobody applies to claim the
funds.
My proposal, I am prepared to place you as the next of kin in a
position to instruct HANG SENG BANK to release the deposit to you as
the closest surviving relation. Upon receipt of the deposit, I am
prepared to share the money with you in a favorable percentage. That is: I will simply
nominate you as the next of kin and have them release the deposit to
you. We share the percentage 60/40. I would have gone ahead to ask the
funds be released to me, but that would have drawn a straight line in
my involvement in claiming the deposit. I assure you that I could have
the deposit released to you within a few days. I will simply inform the
bank of the final closing of the file relating to Haider Hanoon I will
then officially communicate with my Bank and instruct them to release
the deposit to you. With these: all is done. I am aware of the
consequences of this proposal.
I ask that if you find no interest in this project that you should discard
this mail. I ask that you do not be vindictive and destructive.
If my offer is of no appeal to you, delete this message and forget I
ever contacted you. Do not destroy my career because you do not approve
of my proposal. You may not know this but people like myself who have
made tidy sums out of comparable situations run the whole private
banking sector. I am not a criminal and what I do, I do not find
against good conscience, this may be hard for you to understand, but
the dynamics of my industry dictates that I make this move. Such
opportunities only comeS once in a lifetime. I cannot let this
chance pass me by, for once I find myself in total control of my
destiny. These chances wont pass me by. I ask that you do not destroy
my chance, if you will not work with me let me know and let me move on
with my life but do not destroy me. I am a family man and this is an
opportunity to provide them with new opportunities.
If you give me positive signals, I will initiate this process towards a
conclusion. I wish to inform you that should you contact me via
official channels; I will deny knowing you and about this project. I
repeat, I do not want you contacting me through my official phone lines
nor do I want you contacting me through my official email account.
Contact me only through the numbers I will provide for you and also
through the email account that i will provide therein in this email.
Further more be informed that the fact that you are a foreigner give
you the privilege to stand in as my deceased client beneficiary as my
deceased client had no relation all his family died with him during the
war and I can not use my relation because its not accepted here in Hong
Kong. Also I am very confident that we will be able to establish the
trust that is needed to complete this deal and all that I need from the
time been is your willingness and commitment so that we can end this in
the next one weeks.
What you need to understand about this transaction is that I will make
sure that it passes through all international banking laws, regards to
this I will take care of all the expenses and the cost of retaining the
service of my Attorney to give the transaction the proper documentation
that is required to perfect the finishing. Your only obligation in this
transaction will be to set up two offshore accounts that can
accommodate these funds and I will give you more light later once you
agree to partner with me. Like I said before there is no risk involve as
it will pass through international banking laws and all documents
related to this transaction will be sent to you by post for your
perusal and trust.
I do not want any direct link between you and me. My official lines are
not secure lines as they are periodically monitored to assess our level
of customer care in line with our Total Quality Management Policy.
Please observe this instruction religiously. Please, again, note I am a
family man, I have wife and children. I send you this mail not without
a measure of fear as to what the consequences, but I know within me
that nothing ventured is nothing gained and that success and riches
never come easy or on a platter of gold. This is the one truth I have
learned from my private banking clients. Do not betray my confidence.
If we can be of one accord, we should plan a meeting, soon. Should you
be interested I will prefer you to send me your FULL
NAMES,ADDRESS,OCCUPATION AND PHONE NUMBER. on the email address below.

Your earliest response to this letter will be appreciated.
I await your response.

Anyway, take a look:

Fw: Fwd: wedding votives

Anne,
Can you keep this address somewhere - 9321 Mark Court Nokesville VA 20181
This lady has the 60 square votives for sale for $60.  If you can negotiate for all 60 for $50 that might be a good deal if they are good quality we have something to start working with already.  If the edges are a little rounded we can even do a mix of square and round center vases.  That would look very nice too.  Raffy and Mildred also had some slight varietion from table to table and it looks less monotonous, more interesting to look at I think, as long as there a unifying element like they are all glass
This lady is having a baby this weekend and you can only contact her by email - jandnstoner@verizon.net
I tried to post this on your blog but was not able to.  I'll try again.

MORE Ideas for Programs

Family Photo Wall

Personal photographs make a reception space feel like home, and you don't need a hammer and nails to display them. Gather pictures of the bride and groom as children, plus relatives' wedding portraits; arrange on ribbons with calligraphed labels. Hang by the seating-card table for all to see.

Tools for the Task
Removable self-adhesive hooks are the secret to our photo display. Plastic hooks stick securely to the wall but pull off without damaging paint or most wallpaper.

These hooks (from 3M) are sold in several sizes.

Photocopies in wood or plastic frames

Wide satin ribbon

Heavy-duty staple gun

Chipboard or cardboard cut into 1-inch squares

Card-stock tags with names and year

White craft wire

Photo Wall How-To

Before you begin, be sure to check with your reception site about any restrictions on hanging things from the walls. To safeguard original photos, make color photocopies, reducing or enlarging as needed. Choose frames that coordinate with the reception site's decor.

1. Remove the support legs from the backs of frames, or tape flat. Place frames facedown at even intervals on a cutting mat marked with a grid.

2. Lay a length of satin ribbon down the middle of the frames, allowing 10 inches of overhang at both top and bottom; trim bottom end with pinking shears. For reinforcement, center chipboard squares on ribbon just inside top and bottom edges of frames; staple in place.

3. Fold top end of ribbon back 3 inches. About 2 1/2 inches from top, pinch ribbon, and center it over an 18-inch length of wire; wrap wire tightly around ribbon twice.

4. Bring both ends of the wire together, shape into a small loop, and twist to secure. Trim excess wire. To hang, slip wire loop over a removable self-adhesive hook that has been attached to the wall. To hide the wire, loosely knot a length of satin ribbon (about 9 inches long) and cut ends diagonally; affix to ribbon with double-sided tape. Attach labels with names and years under photographs using double-sided tape.

Email Subscription to Blog

Hey ladies,

I went ahead and "subscribed" you all to the blog, so that when I make a post, you get an email. You can change these settings if you want, but I thought it would be easier to just make a post instead of having to copy everyone on emails!

Anne,
Please look around where we can find these square vases and make an estimate of how much this will cost per table.  I have many small votive holders and a number of vases in the house but they are not square.  I am planning to go to IKEA this week to look around.
It would be more efficient if you could come too.  Do you have plans to come up here this week?
